Our Causes & KEY GOALS

At the Heart of what we do is to support quality STEM Education in our schools and the community, we want to assist in the development of STEM leaders, TechnoCrats and Scientist, by supporting our schools to inspire and develop these future critical skill. For us to be able to do that we want you to support us on the following KEY GOALS or CAUSE.

GOAL #1. EFFECTIVE MOBILE SCIENCE CENTRE
effective science and technology support

About 92% of our schools in Middelburg and Nkangala have no working Science labs and our District in Mpumalanga is the only district in province without a National Accredited and government funded Science Centre, we want to help by filling this gap. 

We use our Mobile Science Centre to bring Science and Technology to our Schools through three activities; Hands-on practicals, Robotics and coding and Science Shows.

Our goal is to inspire and ignite the love for Science and Technology.

GOAL #2 DEVELOPING TECHNOAFRIKA DISCOVERY CENTRE - (Our Crazy Dream)

DEVELOP WORLD CLASS SCIENCE CENTRE

TechnoAfrika's Vision is to develop a World Class and Sustainable Discovery Centre in Middelburg that will act as a catalyst and bridge in promoting and supporting STEM education in our schools and communities.

WHY THIS INTERVENTION MATTERS

In South Africa, each province has at least one or two Science Centres. Our province has four Science centres, only our District does not have, we want to filling this gap. Our growing municipality requires a DSI funded and more sustainable Science Centre . Currently our reach is small, and impact is less due to our capacity, and constricted facilities. 

OUR FUNDING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Securing Land from Municipality
  • Securing partnership and support from the business community, Municipality, Government and other stakeholders
  • Securing Building Material and Resources for Developing the Centre
  • Securing Exhibits
  • Need for Volunteers

WHY THIS INTERVENTION MATTERS

TechnoAfrika is a non-profit organisation and depends on sponsorship for programs. In order for us to run quality program we need qualified staff. The sciences are specialised fields, thus require staff with science backgrounds.

WHO IS THE TARGET AUDIENCE

All candidates with a diploma or degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science.

HOW IS THE INTERVENTION IMPLEMENTED

All candidates will receive adequate training and upskilling of the job as a facilitator, presenter and science communicator.

The average stipend for the graduates is R5500 per month
